WhatsApp Business Platform Policy

This policy explains how CAL IQ integrates with Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, business responsibilities, fees, and data handling.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

1. CAL IQ's role

CAL IQ uses the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform and Cloud API to let businesses send, receive, and manage messages. CAL IQ is a technology provider, not WhatsApp or Meta.

Businesses connect their official WhatsApp Business Account through Meta Embedded Signup, granting permissions required for messaging, templates, and webhooks.

CAL IQ is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. beyond access provided through the API program.

2. Business responsibilities

The connected business is responsible for Meta verification, valid contact opt-in, message content and legality, policy compliance, and actions on its account.

CAL IQ provides technical infrastructure but does not independently certify content against all policies, laws, or industry rules.

Meta alone controls template and account approvals, restrictions, pauses, and suspensions.

3. Contact opt-in

Before messaging a contact, the business must obtain clear, documented consent identifying the business and expected communication.

CAL IQ may provide tracking tools, but the business remains responsible for valid consent records and promptly honoring opt-out requests.

4. Templates and the 24-hour window

Free-form messages may be sent only within 24 hours of a contact's latest incoming message. Outside that window, pre-approved templates are required.

CAL IQ restricts outbound messaging accordingly. Meta reviews templates, and CAL IQ cannot guarantee approval.

5. Human escalation

Businesses using automation must provide an accessible path to a human representative. CAL IQ supports handoff capabilities, while the business is responsible for staffing and operating that process.

6. Message fees

Meta charges WhatsApp Business Platform fees based on its current pricing, message category, destination, and volume.

These fees are separate from CAL IQ service fees unless a written agreement says otherwise. Refer to Meta's official documentation for current pricing.

7. Data handling

CAL IQ may process message content, phone numbers, delivery status, account identifiers, and metadata only to provide requested messaging, automation, integration, and reporting features.

CAL IQ does not sell WhatsApp data or use it for advertising or unrelated profiling. Access tokens are encrypted, kept out of the frontend, and used only for necessary API calls.

8. Data deletion

Businesses may request deletion of stored messages, contacts, template data, and account identifiers by disconnecting the integration and submitting a request.

Visit cal-iq.tech/data-deletion or email info@cal-iq.tech with the subject Data Deletion Request — WhatsApp Integration.

After verification, applicable data will be deleted or de-identified within 30 days unless retention is legally, contractually, or securely required.

9. Compliance

CAL IQ may suspend WhatsApp features when use violates Meta policies, CAL IQ terms, or applicable laws. Meta may independently restrict or terminate an account, and CAL IQ does not control those actions.
